
Apple supplier Rockley Photonics today released an advanced digital sensor system, which is likely
to appear on Apple Watch to implement a series of new health tracking functions.
The company today released a complete "wrist clinic" digital health sensor system that enables wearable
devices to monitor multiple biological indicators, including core body temperature, blood pressure, body
moisture, alcohol, lactic acid, and blood sugar trends.
The technology uses a microchip solution with optical sensors to provide continuous, non-invasive monitoring
of various biological indicators, trying to overcome many challenges related to wearable health monitoring,
and avoid the intrusion of sensors that must penetrate the skin.
Many wearable devices use green LEDs to monitor heart rate, but Rockley Photonics' sensors use infrared
spectrophotometers, which can detect and monitor a wider range of biological indicators, thereby greatly
improving the functionality of wearable devices. The sensor generates laser light to non-invasively detect
under the skin to analyze specific components and physical phenomena of blood, interstitial fluid, and
various layers of the dermis.

The company's health sensor technology is likely to appear on the Apple Watch soon, provided that the
technology can meet expectations.
